October Near Wesley Townsend
October is a good month to head south into Midtown. The Atlanta Botanical Garden hosts its Great Pumpkin-Carving Festival on October 22, one of the city's favorite autumn traditions, at 1345 Piedmont Avenue NE, right on the edge of Piedmont Park about two and a half miles from home.
November Near Wesley Townsend
November opens with the Chastain Park Fall Arts Festival, its eighteenth year, running Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, November 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at 4469 Stella Drive in Chastain Park, with more than one hundred fifty artists set up across Fulton County's largest public park. Later in the month, Piedmont Park hosts its Holiday Gift Market on November 28 and 29, more than one hundred artists and makers set up for holiday shopping, while the Atlanta Botanical Garden begins its Garden Lights, Holiday Nights display sometime in November, marking the shift from fall into the holiday season.
